... yeah, excellent attitude. That airbag is there to keep your ass out of the hospital in low-speed collisions. Enjoy your brain damage if you ever rear-end anybody at a decent clip.

I fucking detest it when people swap out safety components just to make their car look "cool." If the wheel is for track usage, fine, but I highly doubt it is.

opinions are like assholes.

just install a quick release hub and only use it when you're showing off or taking pics. Other than that, use the stock wheel for daily stuff. I mean, who's gonna know about this other than people here or your closest friends?

This is your daily car, right? I'll never understand the ricer mentality...

The only advice I will give you with your aftermarket steering wheel is this, check with your insurance company because some companies will no longer cover you if you modify your SRS in any way. A steering wheel without an airbag is OK as long as you don't have this as a daily car or if it is a daily car, get racing seats and 3 to 5 point harness to keep you ass from hitting that steering wheel in case of a wreck. Race car drivers don't have airbags but they have enough belts to keep them in place in the event of a wreck and they are going alot faster then you will. My last frontal wreck I had in my daily galant, the bags did not deploy and I was fine, head on at 50 miles per hour. Not even a scratch, I might have been lucky and I don't think it's safe without those things I mentioned, that's why I have my airbags in my daily car and always will.

Raz, I hear you about the insurance company, but the galant isen't my daily driver. I drive my M35 daily to work.

Warm, its not that i don't listen to good words of advice, like Raz just gave, its that you choose the wrong words to get your point across. realize that, and you wont have issues with people. you can be very knowledgable at times, and a dick others.

X2 on the roll bar and harness idea. The only problem with having just a harness is that it still allows your head to snap forward, which can cause a basular skull fracture (ala Dale Earnhardt) which still can kill you.

The only way to prevent this is to drive around with a HANS device on, which requires you to also wear a helmet.

there is a guy on c3g in a recent thread i read over there that is trying to mod the stock momo evo wheel on his eclipse, it isnt a direct bolt on by any means part of the evo steering column would have to be mated to the galant/ eclipse somehow since the spline size and count is different between ours and the evos among other things...i was going to eventually try this down the line... but i guess seeing how far this guy gets and if it is possible i dont mind not doing the guesswork lol.. it would be a great solution, it would look and feel good and still retain an airbag

i dont think a roll bar is nessasary really, unless your racing around a track at 100, it would be safer, ive never seen a "car" flip unless they did something really stupid like doing 100 and hitting the ebrake and sliding it sideways, only real use they where ment for was flipping, but it would still help if you got hit on the side by an ass hole we got 0 coverage on our doors but some speakers and thin metal

Howabout some nutsack blasts his M35 in the ass end. Since nutsacks rarely have insurance his insurance company wont give him a rental car since he has the galant, resulting in him having to drive it for possibly and extended period of time.

Plausable? I think so.

Most people that do steering wheels swaps, do it for looks. Me included. Did that gay spoiler and huge mitsubishi emblem on the back window make your ride more aerodynamic Duh??? What was the functionality of that?? same thing here.

sup man, i was in Melbourne a couple weeks back visiting my girl's parents and we passed by this car shop having a little showoff in their parking lot. there was this black Porsche Carrera GT with its doors up. shit looked crazy. i didnt even think they had custom car shops in Melbourne. lol

anyway...
it wont be my daily because the M35 is way more comfortable on my ass when driving back and forth to work. and its still under warranty so no turbo any time soon. 8)
